“sparta-offshore.com” is a site operated by The Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult Limited, incorporated and registered in England and Wales with company number 4659351 whose registered office is at Offshore House, Albert Street, Blyth, Northumberland, NE24 1LZ (“Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult”).
The site was developed in conjunction with The Crown Estate Commissioners on behalf of Her Majesty acting in exercise of the powers of The Crown Estate Act 1961 (“The Crown Estate”) (together “we” or “us”).
These terms of use (together with the documents referred to in it) tells you the terms of use on which you may make use of the Sparta Website and the databases that sit within it www.sparta-offshore.com (the Sparta Website), whether as a guest or a registered user.
Use of the Sparta Website includes accessing, browsing, or registering to use the Sparta Website, as well as gaining access to the Output (as defined below).
Please read these terms of use carefully before you start to use the Sparta Website, as these will apply to your use of the Sparta Website. We recommend that you print a copy of this for future reference.
By using the Sparta Website, you confirm that you accept these terms of use and that you agree to comply with them.

The Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult and the Crown Estate are not responsible for the content of external websites that link to the Sparta Website or which are linked from it.
The Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult reserves the right to withdraw the Sparta Website at any time and without prior warning.
We have done our best to ensure the Sparta Website is free from viruses. However, we cannot always guarantee this. You are responsible for installing adequate and up-to-date virus-checking software on your computer.

The Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult reserves the right at its discretion to prohibit any link from another internet site to materials or information on the Sparta Website. Material on the Sparta Website is protected by copyright. Unless stated otherwise, the copyright owner is The Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult or the participant who submitted the information. Material may be downloaded or copied for your use, provided it is reproduced accurately and not used in a misleading context. When downloading documents from the Sparta Website you agree to the following terms and conditions.
"Information" means such information as produced or owned by The Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult or the Crown Estate and obtained from our Sparta Website, for instance from Sparta Website text or downloaded in any digital format such as Adobe Acrobat, Word or an image file.
"Output" means the Information and the output of the SPARTA project – the anonymised information collated from contributors to the SPARTA project.
We, The Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, grant you a non-exclusive non-transferable licence (without the right to sublicense) to copy and use the Output in accordance with the terms of this licence agreement.
You may only use the Output for the use intended by the SPARTA project. Details of the SPARTA project and its intended use can be found here
You are permitted to download the Output to your local hard disk and / or reproduce it in hard copy outputs and static digital formats (e.g. PDF, TIFF or jpeg files).
Copies of the Output must not be provided to third parties.
You acknowledge that the Output has not been prepared to meet your individual requirements. We do not provide any warranty or guarantee as to the accuracy, timeliness, performance, completeness or suitability of the Output for any particular purpose. You acknowledge that the Output may contain inaccuracies or errors and we expressly exclude liability for any such inaccuracies or errors to the fullest extent permitted by law. You acknowledge that the data within the Sparta Website may be amended from time to time and therefore the Output may be different depending on the date on which it is produced. It is your responsibility to ensure that the Output is fit for your intended use. It is also your responsibility to ensure you obtain any updates to the Output made available from time to time from the Sparta Website. We are under no obligation to provide or inform you of any updates.
You are responsible for providing and maintaining the software necessary to make use of the Output including where applicable all licences to use such software.
We reserve the right to terminate this licence at any time and if we do so, you will delete all copies of the Output in your possession or control.
Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that your use of the Sparta Website will be free from error and/or uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all conditions, warranties, representations or other terms which may apply to the Sparta Website or any content on it, whether express or implied. We take no responsibility or liability, so far as is legally possible, for any damages including, but not limited to:
Any content you upload to the Sparta Website will be considered confidential and we will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that no access to this information shall be gained by any third party, except in accordance with the obligations and aims of the SPARTA project.
We have the right to disclose your identity to any third party who is claiming that any content posted or uploaded by you to the Sparta Website constitutes a violation of their intellectual property rights, or of their right to privacy.
We will not be responsible, or liable to any third party, for the content or accuracy of any content posted by you or any other user of the Sparta Website.
These terms of use, its subject matter and its formation (and any non-contractual disputes or claims) are governed by English law. You and we both agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
